mchughrenewables.ie · prepared for McHugh Renewables only

There's a page on your website literally titled "test"

This review is about who your website brings in. The site has real strengths: a genuine family business story going back to 1983, a working Google reviews widget showing 5.0 stars from 65-plus reviews, and 73 tracked keywords, more than most installers your size. The housekeeping is what's holding it back. Three different pages compete for the same EV charger searches, every page title on the site still says "2025," and one live page has no content at all, just the word "test." It's all detailed below, with what to do about each one.

01 The rankings

Three pages fighting each other for the same search

73 keywords are tracked against this site, more breadth than most competitors. The traffic doesn't follow, because several of your biggest searches are split across multiple pages instead of consolidated onto one.

What people GooglePeople / monthYour situation
electric vehicle charging station22.2KYour biggest tracked search. Ranks 59th and 61st, both from the same page.59th
ev charger5.4KRanking from three different URLs at once: 70th, 72nd and 94th.70th
ev charger dublin11035th on one page, 80th and 85th on two others.35th
charging station4.4KYour only real traffic on the list, 39th, still page four.39th
solar panel installers ireland720Ranking from two separate pages: 69th and 90th.69th
mchugh2.9K12th for your own name, your strongest result on the list.12th

"Ev chargers dublin," "domestic car charging" and "electric vehicle charger dublin" are three separate live pages, each trying to rank for overlapping EV charger searches. Google has to decide which one to trust and ends up splitting authority across all three, none of them reaching page one. The same thing happens with solar panel installers: "solar panel installation dublin" and "pv panel installer dublin" compete against each other for the same search.

02 The specifics

Four things holding the numbers down

The homepage itself is in good shape, with real reviews and a genuine business story. These are the checkable technical issues underneath it.

Live
A page with no content, titled "test," is live on the site
mchughrenewables.ie/test/ returns a working page with the title "test" and nothing else. It's indexed the same as any other page on the site.
Wrong
Your Terms and Conditions page is titled for a cleaning company
The page's Google listing reads "Terms And Conditions | Best cleaning Services | 2025." It's a leftover from whatever template the site was built on, never changed to match what McHugh Renewables actually does.
Duplicate
Three pages compete for the same EV charger searches
/ev-chargers-dublin/, /domestic-car-charging/ and /electric-vehicle-charger-dublin/ all target the same searches. Instead of one strong page, you have three weaker ones splitting the authority between them.
Stale
Every page title on the site still says "2025"
All 30 pages checked end their Google listing with "| 2025," including this homepage, even though it's now July 2026. A small detail, but it's exactly the kind of thing a visitor comparing search results notices.
Worth noticing

This is not a design problem, it is steady monthly work. Nothing here needs a rebuild. It needs the three EV pages merged into one, the stray pages cleaned up, and the dates updated.

03 Done for you

The fixes, already written out

Each fix below is ready to hand to whoever manages the site.

Fix 1 · Your EV charger page's Google listing, before vs after
Once the three competing pages are merged into one, that page's listing should lead with the search itself and drop the stale year.
What Google shows now (one of three)

EV Chargers Dublin | Best Charging & Solar Experts | 2025
Splitting authority with two other pages covering the same topic.
What it should show

EV Charger Installation Dublin | McHugh Renewables
SEAI-registered EV charger installation across Dublin. Family run since 1983. 5.0 stars from 65+ Google reviews.
Fix 2 · Consolidate the split pages
One strong page per topic beats three weak ones. Keep the best-performing page, point the others to it.
Keep /ev-chargers-dublin/ → owner: merge in content from /domestic-car-charging/ and /electric-vehicle-charger-dublin/, then redirect both to it
Keep /solar-panel-installation-dublin/ → owner: merge in /pv-panel-installer-dublin/, then redirect it across
Delete /test/ → owner: remove entirely, it carries no content
Fix 3 · The remaining quick fixes
Small, checkable, no design work involved.
/terms-and-conditions/ , replace "Best cleaning Services" with your actual business name
All 30 page titles , update "2025" to "2026" across the site
04 The plan

05 What it adds up to

Run your own numbers on it

The searches in this report add up to

35,320 searches every month.

Around 2 visits a month currently arriving from all 73 tracked keywords combined.

One confirmed top-20 ranking anywhere in the report, and it's your own business name.

Electric vehicle charging station alone is 22,200 searches a month, and it's split across three of your own pages instead of concentrated on one. Add the EV charger and solar installer searches on top and the real, addressable volume here is well into the tens of thousands. You know how many of those searches turn into a job for you, and what a job is worth. That's the sum worth doing on your side.

Bottom line: You're not missing content. You're splitting it three ways when it should be one strong page.
Why sooner beats later

Your tracked keyword count grew 14% over the last month, which means Google is actively re-evaluating this site right now. Consolidating the split pages while that re-evaluation is happening gets the benefit faster than waiting for the next crawl cycle.
